Venusia Max Intensive Moisturizing Lotion Review

Venusia Max Intensive Moisturizing Lotion Review

Once in a while, I need to take a break from cosmetic products to dermatologist prescribed ones. This intensive moisturizing lotion by Dr Reddy’s was prescribed to me by my dermatologist as a body lotion for my extremely dry skin. Prior to that I had no idea that this even existed 🙂 Well, I had got this towards the end of last winter. However, I have been using this quite sparingly since last few months since climate is extremely hot and humid. Now that I have almost used up this lotion, I decided to review it before discarding the bottle.

My Take on Venusia Max Intensive Moisturizing Lotion

Packaging – Comes in a simple pump bottle with a clamp to avoid accidental pumping of lotion during travel

Texture – Extremely thick and rich, creamy white lotion

Fragrance – Mild and pleasant, which does not smell of anything in particular. But sometimes, I get a faint hint of some sort of oils a little time after application.

I basically have very dry skin, which gets even drier in winters. So, my dermatologist prescribed me this Venusia Max lotion. One of the basic thumb rules for extremely dry skin is to moisturize within 3 minutes of shower/bath. And as per her instructions, I use it soon after a shower. It is richly moisturizing and gets immediately absorbed into the skin. It doesn’t make my skin greasy and I don’t find any need for re-application till my next shower. It is sufficiently moisturizing for dry elbows and knees, hands and feet as well and you won’t find the need for a separate product.

Summing it up,

Pros

  • Suitable for dry to extremely dry skin
  • Contains aloe butter, shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter
  • Non greasy and richly moisturizing – no need for constant re-applications
  • Convenient pump dispenser
  • Easily available online and in most chemist stores in India

Cons

  • Contains parabens
  • Quite expensive

Do I recommend it?

For dry and extremely dry skin – this is a boon during dry winter months when no other moisturizer seems moisturizing enough for you. However, you can skip this the rest of the time. All other skin types can stay away from this.
