St Ives Collagen Elastin Lotion Review

St Ives Collagen Elastin Lotion Review

I had purchased this sometime in winter from Health and Glow. There were lots of variants to choose from and they did have testers for a couple of variants, but not this one. However, the presence of Collagen and Elastin and 100% natural moisturizers (vegetable glycerin and soy bean oil) in this one was too tempting to resist and I went ahead and picked it up.

Price Rs 599 for 621 ml (Plus I got a freebie with it! A cute little mini-manicure kit, check the images below)

Description
Skin Renewing Body Lotion. Collagen Elastin. Proven to visibly improve skin’s elasticity for younger looking skin. Dermatologist Tested. Gentle for Sensitive Skin. Made with 100% natural moisturizers.

My Experience with St Ives Collagen Elastin Body Lotion
The lotion comes in quite a huge (it’s 621 ml, remember?) pump bottle. Unfortunately, there was only one size available. The lotion has a fragrance, but it doesn’t smell of anything.  So can’t really describe it. It is thick and creamy, not runny at all. It sinks into the skin in a jiffy without leaving any greasiness or stickiness behind. My skin instantly looks and feels soft and moisturized.
I had purchased it in winter. It was not hydrating enough for my dry skin, so it went to the back of my shelf for a few months. I started using it again sometime in April and worked really well for me. What makes it different from other body lotions I have used in the past is unlike others, this one definitely improved my skin texture over time. I don’t know about elasticity, but I definitely did see my dry and damaged skin (due to swimming) getting visibly better with use. Also, doesn’t need constant re-application, so a bottle might last you quite a long time.

Summing up the pros and cons of St Ives Collagen Elastin Lotion
Pros
-Suitable for sensitive skin
– Contains collagen, elastin and 100% natural moisturizers – vegetable glycerin and soy bean oil
– Non greasy, easily absorbed
– Skin feels soft & moisturized and shows definite improvement with constant use

Cons
– Quite expensive compared to other body lotions out there
– Not hydrating enough for dry skinned beauties during winters
– Comes only in 1 size. A smaller travel friendly bottle would have been more welcome.
– Presence of a pump and huge size of the bottle makes it impossible to travel with

Do I recommend it?
It’s definitely one of the best body lotions I have used which has shown noticeable results with constant use. I might repurchase in future, but as of now, I want to try other variants as well.

  1. Its pricey but I really like the fact that it contains great ingredients n is suitable for sensitive skin.. People with sensitive skin may spend an extra amount but cannot handle reactions and that itchy irritating stuff… I just wish the packaging was better but anyways, you could always transfer it in a smaller container for travelling (no other option haha)

  2. Absolutely..those with sensitive skin have to be really particular about the products we put on our skin! Yeah, smaller bottle would have been welcome, we could have also given the numerous variants a try. Thanks for commenting Zeba 🙂
