Skin care Favorites This Winter Season

Though its not really cold here in Mumbai, the climate is quite dry and it tends to make your skin and hair super dry. Here are a few of my favorite basic skin care products for this season.

Oriflame Tender Care Protecting Balm
I have both variants of this one – the regular as well as the one with rose oil. Main ingredients are Beeswax and Vitamin E. It is such a versatile product, I absolutely love it. I use it mainly for chapped lips though they say it can be used for rough knees and elbows as well. Works better than most lip balms out there. The tiny jar is super cute and attractive.

Maybelline Babylips
I love it for the tint more than the moisturizing effect. There is a constant need to reapply this one if used by itself. The variant I am using right now is Cherry Kiss.

Roots Morocvita Argan Oil
Really helps to keep the frizz down without making your hair look oily. Gives a very healthy sheen. Can be used as a heat protectant serum as well. The product comes in a glass bottle which is a little difficult to carry around in your bag. However, I have a very tiny bottle (I had received a sample in Fab Bag. I loved it so much, I purchased a full size version of it) in which I transfer a little amount and keep it in my bag. Will post a detailed review on this very soon

Cetaphil Moisturizer and DAM Cream
These are my skin care staple throughout the year. Though it makes skin slightly greasy in humid climate, it is perfect for the current dry season.

Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion
This is my all time favorite cleansing lotion. It has no fragrance, soap-free, it’s non foaming. Actually boring but perfect for sensitive skin. It gently cleanses without drying.

Nivea Creme
This humble blue Nivea tin is again a very versatile product. You can use it for rough knees and elbows also on your hands and feet after your regular moisturizer to seal in the moisture. Occasionally, I also use it as a hydrating face masque. Keep it on for about 15 minutes and wipe it off with a warm washcloth. Helps combat the dryness.

Nivea nourishing lotion Body Milk
Though there are many variants in the market, I use the ‘very dry skin’ variant with almond oil. It is non greasy, highly moisturizing and doesn’t need constant re-application. Maybe about twice a day.

Well, these are my skincare favorites. What are you loving this winter? Do let me know in the comments!
