Nivea Sun Protect & Moisture Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 Review

Nivea Sun Protect & Moisture Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50

A few weeks ago, we were planning for a trip to a nearby resort. I was expecting to spend a good time in the swimming pool under the scorching sun and I needed a really good waterproof sunscreen. As with most trips, I was doing some last minute packing and I came across this one which could be delivered through Amazon at a very short notice.

Price: Rs 499 for 125 ml and Rs 379 for 75 ml (Available on Amazon at a discount)

About Nivea Sun Protect & Moisture Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50

Moisturizing Sun and Collagen Protection SPF 50+. PA++++ UVA-UVB Protection System. Water Resistant.

My Take on Nivea Sun Protect & Moisture Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50

Packaging It comes in the typical Nivea blue colored bottle with a flip top cap – quite sturdy packaging. There is a very small nozzle to dispense the sunscreen. However, over time the sunscreen tends to dry and crust around the nozzle if not cleaned after every usage.

Appearance & Fragrance The sunscreen is kind of off-white in color and has a pleasant but prominent fragrance. The texture is thick and creamy. When you apply, it takes a while to blend – it looks like it might leave a white cast. But in five minutes or so and quite a lot of blending, it ultimately disappears, leaving a very very greasy layer behind.

Effectiveness I have used it during swimming. While in water, it appears like it is coming off – it shows a whitish layer. But later I realized that even though some of it gets washed off, it’s still super effective in guarding from the sun. Some parts on my back where I had missed out applying sunscreen were badly tanned, whereas the parts where I had used the sunscreen was at least 80% less tanned. For regular use, I avoid using it for my face since I find it too heavy. However I do use it for my body.

Do I recommend Nivea Sun Protect & Moisture Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50?

This is super greasy and makes your skin super oily irrespective of your skin type. However, it is super effective against sun damage.
