Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack Pomegranate Review

Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack Pomegranate

I was always intrigued by capsule recipe packs by Innisfree, so I decided to pick one. The Innisfree Capsule Recipe Packs are available in 12 variants on Nykaa. There is Volcanic Clay, Rice, SeaWeed, Pomegranate, Green Tea, Bija & Aloe, Bija & Green Tea, Canola Honey, Aloe, Red Kiwi, Bamboo, Aronia.

I decided to pick the Pomegranate one. For one, I love sleeping masks (sleeping masks are the ones that you use overnight in place of a night cream). I have used a couple of them by Aroma Magic and loved them so much. Secondly this one seemed to be perfect – a hydrating pack for my dry skin.

About Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack Pomegranate

1. Skin resilience care with pomegranate ingredients (Containing 1,000ppm of pomegranate tree extract)

2. A hydrating texture made of lumpy pomegranates

3. A sleeping pack that softly absorbs into the skin (This pack works much better when used after refrigeration.)

Price

Rs 150 for a pack of 10 ml of product

How to use

Apply the desired amount of refrigerated capsule pack and gently spread onto the face at the cream step. Leave on overnight and wash it off next morning. You can also use it at room temperature

My Take on Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack Pomegranate

Packaging It comes in a tiny disposable kind of container. Depending on how much you use at a time, there is enough to use it at least twice. Once you open it, the lid is not good enough to keep the contents from spilling. So you have to be really careful with it.

Texture & Fragrance The pack has a pale pink transparent gel like texture. It has a very mild and pleasant fragrance which doesn’t smell of anything in particular. I mean it doesn’t smell fruity or anything.

As per the instructions I decided to use this in place of night cream. I used a fairly good thick layer, just like we should for masks. Initially, it has a easy to spread gel like consistency. After 15 minutes or so, once it starts drying, it started feeling a bit sticky. A little later, it was really very sticky. Sticky to the point of being uncomfortable. After about 3-4 hours, it was getting so uncomfortable that I washed it off. No way I was keeping this till morning. It was quite difficult to rinse off. After rinsing, my skin felt smooth, but dry. I followed up with moisturizer.  Next morning, I saw that it had done barely anything noticeable for my skin.

So I decided to give it a second try after 2 days. This time I applied a very thin layer so that I would not have to deal with the stickiness. I did keep it on overnight. Rinsed it off in the morning. However, again, there was no noticeable effects.

Summing up,

Pros

  • They come in small packs, so you don’t waste a lot of product in case you don’t like a particular variant
  • Reasonably priced
  • Lots of variants to choose from

Cons

  • The packaging could have been better – once you open it, the lid doesn’t sit well again
  • This variant – pomegranate did not work for me

Do I recommend?

This pomegranate variant? Absolute no. But I would definitely explore other variants from this range. Chances are, I might find a good pack.

I think what I love most is that it come in small packs, so one can start out with that.
I have a dry skin, so I don’t think this is for me.

  4. It’s great that you were honest about your experience with their product and I agree with you that the product packaging could use a little work but the fact that it comes in small portions is great too!

  5. I have only tried the sheet masks by Innisfree which I like. When I started reading your post I thought Yay! another mask that I can add to my skincare but sadly it did not work for you. As for sleeping masks there are a few that I use and I absolutely love. 🙂
