My Take on Garnier Ultra Blends Nourishing Shine Shampoo – Henna & Blackberry

Packaging – Really attractive bottle with a flip-top cap. I’m super impressed. Travel friendly. Plus it comes in three sizes. So, take your pick.

Fragrance – Very mild, but pleasant fragrance. Does not smell of anything in particular.

Color & Texture – The bottle is purplish. The color of the shampoo is a much much lighter color of the bottle. Almost colorless. It has a gel like appearance. It is neither too runny nor too thick.

The first time I used it, I did not have any oil on in my hair. I found it to be a very gentle shampoo which cleansed well. I skipped conditioner (I didn’t have any at that point in time). I wouldn’t say my hair was super shiny or anything. But it definitely did not dry out my hair.

The next time I used it. my hair was heavily oiled. And realized that I needed really generous amount of shampoo. I used up more than half of the (tiny) bottle to wash away all the oil. As you see, the shampoo is really gentle and you will really need to repeat shampooing if you have used oil or a mask on your hair.

Summing it up,

What I really loved about it

  • Attractive packaging
  • Very reasonably priced
  • Comes in three sizes – so you can buy a trial size if you are not sure which variant to go for
  • Extremely gentle – good for regular use
  • Paraben free

Do I recommend it?

Well, yes. If you’re looking for a very gentle shampoo for regular use, you can definitely give it a try.

    • I haven’t tried any by Tresseme yet, maybe I should 🙂

  1. This sounds like a mild everyday type shampoo. But earlier I have used Garnier shampoos but it dried my hair. I have been using Pantene for the past few years. I do give a break by changing to L’Oréal, Dove and even Tresseme but I always go back to Pantene- smooth and shine one. It has become my favorite. But these days I am using the SebaMed shampoo for hair fall along with it.

    • I never used to like Garnier shampoos either. I won’t be repurchasing this one for myself either. It’s way too mild for me. Works great for my husband though, since he shampoos his hair almost everyday.
