The Face Shop Calendula Mask Review

The Face Shop Calendula Mask Review

After the shea butter mask from the Real Nature range worked so well on my skin, I was very eager to try others in the range and tried Calendula mask from the same range next. The main reason why I had shortlisted this was because on the site, it was recommended for dry skin. Read on to find out how it worked for me.

My Experience using The Face Shop Calendula Mask

As directed I washed my face and used a toner (FabIndia Rose water). The Face Mask comes in a sachet containing single sheet. I tore open the sachet and placed the sheet mask on my face. I was really pleased to be greeted by a pleasant floral fragrance. The mask was dripping so much with the serum that there was quite a lot of serum left behind in the sachet. I poured in in my palm and applied on my neck too. Initially the mask gave a very cooling feeling, which I loved. But after some time the corners of my nose and jawline started itching a bit. Also, about 7 minutes later, I noticed that this mask, unlike the shea butter variant was drying out. After about 12 minutes I removed the mask. I must mention that I have dry and sensitive skin. Within minutes my skin was dry and stretchy, and I had to follow up with moisturizer. Also, till the next day, my skin felt more sensitive than it already was.  I actually did not do anything for my skin apart from leaving it dry, stretchy and more sensitive.

The Face Shop Calendula Mask

To sum it up,

Pros

  • Not expensive
  • Being a sheet mask, it’s non messy and super easy to use.
  • Lovely fragrance
  • Convenient packaging

Cons

  • Not suitable for dry, sensitive skin. Even for other skin types, I don’t see anything good that this would do.
  • Doesn’t live up to it’s claims

Would I recommend it?

Nope. I am sure that you should skip this. Though every skin type is different, and the way it reacted on my skin may not be the case with others, there are so many better masks out there. You wont miss out anything if you skip this.

    • Don’t even bother trying this one. Not worth it. But they have so many variants to choose from, you might find something that you like
