Essence Silky Touch Blush in Shade 40 Natural Beauty Review, Swatch

Essence Silky Touch Blush in Shade 40 Natural Beauty Review, Swatch

A few months ago, there was a contest on Instagram by The Fab Bag. I participated and totally forgot about it. I was pleasantly surprised when I was tagged as one of the winners. I had won this Essence Silky Touch blush in the shade 40 Natural Beauty. For those who are new to this brand, Essence is a leading cosmetics brand from Europe. It has a lot of amazing makeup products at extremely affordable prices. Correct me if I am wrong, but as of now, Essence products are mainly available online. I haven’t seen them at any stores or supermarkets yet in India. Now Essence Silky Touch Blushes are available in 7 shades in India.

About Essence Silky Touch Blush

Silky soft blush for a fresh looking complexion all day long.

My take on Essence Silky Touch Blush in Shade 40 Natural Beauty

Packaging – Comes prettily packaged with transparent lid that closes with a click. You can see lovely motifs on the blush. The packaging is quite sturdy
Colour/Shade – It is a warm peachy brown shade. More brown than peach actually. It is not completely matte. But rather, gives a satiny finish.
Texture – Very smooth and finely milled. Not chalky at all. However, you do need to put in some effort to blend it. Else it might look uneven as you can see in the swatch.
Finish – Neither too matte or shiny. Gives a satiny finish.
Pigmentation – The colour payoff is quite nice. The colour shows up really well on my NC 41 skin tone. Here I have used two sweeps of the blush for it to show up like this.
Staying power – Quite nice. Stays for about 5-6 hours after which you need to touch up.

Though I have never been someone who uses blush on a regular basis, off late, I have been trying a lot of them and thoroughly enjoying it. I am currently loving blushes that are less pigmented and give a subtle hint of colour.
Like I mentioned before, this particular shade is a peachy brown colour, more brown than peach. It is more brown than I like my blushes to be. So I use it as a product for a subtle contouring effect instead of a blush.
The price is comparable to that of Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blushes. Also, they have seven lovely colours to choose from where as Maybelline range has only three. Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blushes, you now have competition!

Do I recommend Essence Silky Touch Blush?

Well, as for this particular shade, I think it is a matter of personal preference. However, the blushes from this Silky Touch range by Essence is definitely worth a try. At this price, they have seven shades (including some deeper shades) to choose from and are definitely good quality.

  1. I really like the essence blushes. I have a few and am happy that it is available here in stores. They have these mosaic blushes as well. This shade is really pretty. I don’t think I have this one but will have to check. 🙂

    • I haven’t seen their mosaic blushes as yet, will definitely check them out. Thanks for letting me know 🙂
