Top Beauty Picks for 2017

Top Beauty Picks for 2017

Today is officially the last day of 2017. The year went by in a jiffy. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but it was an enriching and eventful year for me.  In this last post for this year, here is a list of the best beauty products I have used in 2017. Many of them have been reviewed already and for the ones which have not been reviewed yet, they will be up soon. So, here we go-

1. Lakme Absolute Illuminating Foundation

I had a whole lot of weddings and parties to attend in the last few months, and an illuminating foundation seemed to be perfect for the occasion. And guess what, it did not disappoint. It is one of the best foundations by Lakme I have used so far. It comes in four shades, and I was lucky enough to find a shade which matches my skin tone. It gives a lovely dewy finish which looks amazing in winters for the festive season. I love everything about it – the formula, the finish, the packaging, everything.

Price – Rs 750 for 15 ml.

2. Maybelline Master Contour Face Contouring Kit

Again, this was a purchase that I made keeping in mind the multiple weddings and parties I had to attend. It has a contour, blush and highlighter all in one. This is a no fuss product and perfect especially for those who are just starting out with makeup. Available in two shades – Light to Medium and Medium to Deep. If you’re looking for a basic contouring kit, you should definitely check this out.

Price – Rs 999 for a palette

3. The Face Shop Sheet Masks

I did not have much expectations when I first purchased these sheet masks. But once I used them, I was blown away by how amazing they made my skin feel. These sheet masks are enriched with serums which give your skin a much needed pampering.  They come in a lot of variants, each offering different benefits like brightening, smoothening, hydrating, etc. So you can take your pick and see what suits you.

Price – Rs 100 for a single sheet mask

4. Sugar It’s a Pout Time Lipsticks

I had read rave reviews about this range of lipsticks and decided to pick the shade Breaking Bare. And ever since I purchased this, all my other lipsticks are being ignored. Breaking Bare is the most used lipstick in my stash. As luck would have it, I received another one, Twilight Rose in my beauty subscription box – Fab Bag. The color payoff, the formula, the staying power, everything is amazing about this

Price – Rs 599

5. Colorbar Perfect Match Primer

Though this primer didn’t work that well with my liquid foundations, it works really well with my MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation. It helps minimize the appearance of pores and makes the foundation stay put for hours at a  stretch without budging and gives a lovely finish.

Price – Rs 825 for 30 ml

6. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

This finely milled mineral makeup by MAC gives a lovely luminous glow and a natural looking finish. On days that you’re not looking for much coverage, you can use it by itself for a subtle natural glow or you can use it as a finishing powder on top of your foundation. Either ways, you will love it. You can read the complete review here.

Price – Ranges from Rs 2600 – Rs 2850 depending on the shade

7. Essence Silky Touch Blush

In the last few months, I have been experimenting a lot with blushes, and came across a few of them which will take your makeup game a notch higher without burning a hole in your pocket. I am saying this because a lot of women I know love to use foundation, but are not comfortable with the idea of using blushes. Ladies, try these, you will not be disappointed. Essence has some pocket friendly yet amazing blushes with good choice of shades which you should give a try.

Price – Rs 299

8. Beauty Formulas Makeup Removal Wipes for Sensitive Skin

Makeup removal wipes are perfect for those lazy days when you’re feeling too exhausted or if you are travelling and not able to go through the entire routine of makeup removal. If you have sensitive skin, finding the right wipes can be tough. I was elated when I came across these makeup removal wipes by Beauty Formulas, especially for sensitive skin. You can read the entire review here.

Price- Rs 220 for 30 wipes

9. Palmers Skin Therapy Oil

This Skin Therapy Oil by Palmers is lightweight, has a mild, pleasant rose hip fragrance and can be used for face as well as body. I had primarily purchased this for use on my face, and during that time, there wasn’t any variant which was meant specifically for use on face. However, now they do have a facial oil, and I intend to use it sometime in near future.

Price – Rs 450 for 60 ml

10. Neemli Naturals Four Clay Mask

I have dry skin and I always tend to stay away from clay masks. Till I came across this one that is. From the first use itself, I saw how much difference it could make to my skin when used before a sheet mask and have been using it regularly ever since. Unlike most other clay masks, it doesn’t excessively dry my skin and makes my skin smooth post usage. Read review here

Price – Rs 550 for 75 gm
