Subscription boxes are getting increasingly popular these days. I particularly love subscription boxes because it feels like a gift – from me….to me. There are so many subscription boxes to choose from – beauty, period, lingerie, men’s grooming, for kids, food , pets, etc. For those who are new to this concept,

What exactly is a Beauty Subscription Box?

Just like you subscribe to magazines, you can subscribe to beauty boxes.  You can subscribe for a month, 3 months, 6 months or a year. Once you do so, you receive an assortment of beauty products to try from. It is generally an assortment of skincare, makeup, hair care etc. Some of them have questionnaires to know your preferences. Also, sometimes you get to choose between products.

Each month when my beauty subscription box arrives, I can’t hide my excitement in un-boxing it!  Though there are a lot of beauty subscription boxes, in this post, I have compiled a list of the five most popular ones in India –

 

Fab Bag


Fab Bag is one of the most popular beauty subscription boxes. I had first subscribed to Fab Bag way back in the years when it was known as Vellvette Box. When you subscribe, you are required to fill a questionnaire about your skin type, skin tone, hair and skin concerns etc, so that they can accordingly send you a assorted  set of products. Apart from that, sometimes you also get to choose a product in your bag – maybe a lipstick or a eye shadow shade for that month. However, most of the time, what you get in the bag remains a surprise till you get the bag. They earlier had a Men’s Bag also, but discontinued it.
How much does it cost – Rs 599 for 1 month

 

Zo Bag


Zo Bag – relatively new, is a subscription Box by Zotezo, an online store for health care, personal care, makeup and beauty products. This is again a monthly subscription box, wherein you get an assorted set of products. However, when you are placing an order, you can see what is there in the bag, so you can decide whether you want to buy that bag or not. They also have the concept of a mini bag, wherein you get fewer products for a lesser cost.
How much does it cost – Rs 199 on wards for mini bag  | Rs 499 onwards for the regular bag (Price changes every month for both the bags) 

 

BeautyWish Box

This one is by The Nature’s Co brand. They are known for their natural, Cruelty free personal care and beauty products. In this box, you receive a mix of 5-7 sample and full sized products.
How much does it cost – Rs 795 for a month

 

My Envy Box


My Envy Box has two categories you can subscribe to – Beauty Box and Jewelry Box. The Beauty Box has trial sized beauty products from the international luxury brands, while the Jewelry Box contains designer jewelry pieces.
How much does it cost – Beauty Box – Rs 850 for a single box | Jewelry Box – Rs 2450 for a single box

 

Glo Box

Glo Box you can subscribe to a box and wait for a surprise or you can build your own box where you get 5 full size products. The subscription box requires you to fill a questionnaire to know more about your skin type, hair type, makeup preferences etc so that they can send you products accordingly.
How much does it cost – Rs 845 a month for subscription box | Rs 999 a month when you build your own box
